Organizers describe downtown as coming alive like a holiday movie set and invite families to bring everyone; the early start means even younger children can enjoy the countdown and fireworks and still get home at a reasonable hour. Downtown shops and restaurants around the square are a short walk away for dinner afterward. The event is presented by Downtown Dallas; no ticket or registration is mentioned, so plan to arrive early for a spot near the tree and allow time for parking around the square. ## Similar picks in Atlanta - [Alpharetta Tree Lighting — Season of Celebration 2026](https://grassyknees.com/atlanta/activities/alpharetta-tree-lighting-season-of-celebration-2026--listing-49acbeb024c1e62762039aa9) — Sat, Nov 21 · 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM · Alpharetta City Hall, Downtown Alpharetta · Free · checked Oct 16.
