The Parks and Recreation department lists it as an evening event from 6 to 9 p.m. in early December, making it the city's kickoff to the season before its Holidays in the Haven programming runs from December 19 through January 4. It is an outdoor evening event, so families should bring warm layers and plan for parking around the park on a weeknight. The 2026 date needs checking: the city calendar entry lists Thursday, December 3, 2026, 6–9 p.m., while the Parks and Recreation special-events page lists December 2. The city has not yet posted a program for this year, so check the city calendar or call Parks and Recreation at (404) 637-0500 before going for the confirmed date and the evening's activities. ## Similar picks in Atlanta - [Christmas Parade & Light Up City Center Park — Fayetteville](https://grassyknees.com/atlanta/activities/christmas-parade-and-light-up-city-center-park-fayetteville--listing-37635ffb7a904747fff69005) — Fri, Nov 27 · 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM · City Center Park, Fayetteville · All ages · checked Oct 20.
