Little Shop of Stories with the Georgia Center for the Book

Little Shop of Stories and the Georgia Center for the Book kick off the bookstore's Trick or Treat Week with a Halloween author event at the Decatur Library on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 2 PM. Authors Shannon Hale and Dean Hale and illustrator LeUyen Pham will talk about their new book, Princess in Black and the Trick-or-Treating Trouble, in the library auditorium. Children are invited to wear their Halloween costumes for a costume contest: each entrant's Polaroid is displayed and attendees vote with tally marks, and winners receive Little Shop gift cards. Attendees also help judge a pumpkin decorating contest (no carving; entries were dropped off at Little Shop October 21–23), the winning pumpkins decorate the stage, and everyone can take home some candy. A free ticket admits one person; an Admission + Book ticket costs $16.99. All three creators will sign, but buying the book from Little Shop is required to join the signing line, and they will also sign one additional book brought from home or bought at the event. The library lists the program for school-age children, children of all ages with parents, and adults.
