Where the Weird Things Are is a night of homemade monsters along the Atlanta BeltLine created by parade artist Chantelle Rytter. On Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 7:30 to 9 PM, the Upside Down Parade turns the usual parade around: the costumed Weird Things stay in place in the grassy areas around the pond near the Historic Fourth Ward Park amphitheater, and visitors stroll the loop to meet them, to music by the Black Sheep Ensemble. Families can pack a picnic and sit at the amphitheater, and costumes are appreciated. Anyone can also come as a Weird Thing in a handmade costume or puppet, from finger puppets and paper-plate masks to giant puppets; participants are encouraged to bring tiny gifts such as candy, a joke or an acorn with a monster face drawn on it. The organizer's page links craft ideas for masks and puppets. There is no vending, visitors are asked to leave no trace, and the area is ADA accessible from the Daniel St. ramp.
