This Saturday morning, October 24, Pease Park Conservancy hosts a pollinator-themed family play date at Kingsbury Commons as part of Austin's citywide Roots & Wings Festival celebrating nature in the city. The first half is a pollinator puppet-making workshop with Small Wonders, where kids build their own bee, butterfly or other pollinator puppet; the second half is a hands-on workshop on propagating native plants that give pollinators food and habitat. Families go home with both a puppet and plants to start a pollinator patch on a balcony or in the yard. It runs from 9 to 11 a.m., so it fits before naps or lunch. Registration is requested through the conservancy's sign-up link.
