For the 2026 season the city lists Western Wonderland from November 27 through January 3. Alongside public skating there is a twinkling trail of lights, a holiday market with local vendors, community performances and a run of smaller themed micro events and a character breakfast through the season, so it works for a full evening out with kids who skate and grandparents who would rather stroll with cocoa. Spectators get in free. The rink page also describes early-morning beginner lessons by age group (Tiny Gliders for ages 4 to 6, Youth Skaters for 7 to 10, and an open level for 11 and up and families) booked through the city's recreation portal, with helmets and knee pads recommended for children 10 and under. Daily hours and skate prices for 2026 should be confirmed on the city's page before you go. ## Similar picks in Austin - [EmilyAnn Trail of Lights 2026](https://grassyknees.com/austin/activities/emilyann-trail-of-lights-2026--listing-b0399fbbf9ffedcf81e093e2) — Nov 28 – Dec 26 · 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM · EmilyAnn Theatre & Gardens, Wimberley · All ages · Free · checked Oct 16.
