- Chesapeake Children's Museum
A small, hands-on children's museum in Annapolis whose mission is discovery about the peoples, technologies and ecology of the Chesapeake Bay area. It grew out of a grassroots parents' group in 1992 and has run play-based exhibits and programs for more than 30 years. Its calendar mixes drop-in programs such as Art and Story Time, Club Lego, Creek Critters nature walks along the museum grounds and an instrument petting zoo, alongside exhibits such as Culture Carriers and the Black Waterman Experience. It is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $8 per person for ages 1 and up, with advance online tickets available; members and their regular caregivers get in free, and visitors with a SNAP/EBT/WIC card pay $1 through Museums for All. A fall family membership ($40 through December 31) covers unlimited visits. Best for toddlers through early elementary children.
