Water is one of the most essential elements for survival. In this free Cromwell Valley Park program, a naturalist leads a guided hike to Minebank Run, the stream that runs through the park, where participants test their skills with different water filtration methods. The hour-long Sunday program is for ages 10 and up and combines a short hike with hands-on survival-skills science, a good fit for scouts, homeschoolers and curious older kids with their adults. It is free, but registration is required. Wear shoes that can get muddy near the stream.
