Wildlife ecologist and nature author Brad Timm brings his illustrated nature book America is Wild! to Medford Public Library for an after-school program for kids ages 7 to 12. Participants travel coast to coast through the animals and plants of all 50 states, picking up surprising wildlife facts along the way, and work in teams on hands-on challenges that build observation, critical-thinking and communication skills. It suits curious grade-schoolers who like animal trivia and active, game-style learning more than sitting through a lecture. The program lasts an hour in the library's Bonsignore Hall, and registration is required.
