The days are built around getting outside in winter conditions on the farm: meeting and interacting with the farm animals, learning about growing food, hiking and exploring the woods, wetlands, gardens and fields, age-appropriate science activities and hands-on play, with time indoors for snack and arts and crafts. Children bring a lunch and several snacks, a water bottle, an extra change of clothes and socks, rain or winter boots, and weather-appropriate outer layers such as snow pants, a hat and gloves. Each day needs at least five children to run, and families sign up through the farm's online booking page. Soule Homestead is a nonprofit agri-ecology and conservation learning center, and families returning from its summer camp do not need to resend their documents unless they have changed. ## Similar picks in Boston - [Crafternoon: New Year's Eve Edition — Chinatown Library](https://grassyknees.com/boston/activities/crafternoon-new-year-s-eve-edition-chinatown-library--listing-88b0d8de26748da5dcbaa260) — Thu, Dec 31 · 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM · Boston Public Library, Chinatown Branch · Up to 18 · Free · checked Oct 16.
