## About

Registered Scouts can complete every requirement for the Mining in Society merit badge in one day at Reed Gold Mine. The workshop starts with a PowerPoint presentation and class time to finish the merit badge workbook, followed by a guided tour of the underground mine covering the site's history and the gold mining process. Weather permitting, Scouts then pan for gold in the outdoor panning area. The $15 per-Scout fee covers the workshop, tour and one panning ticket. Adult leaders can buy panning tickets in the gift shop ($4 after tax) and underground tour tickets ($5 for adults 13 and older).
