## About

The 73rd Monroe Christmas Parade comes down Main Street in historic downtown Monroe on Sunday afternoon, November 22, 2026, starting at 2 p.m. and going ahead rain or shine. More than 100 entries take part: floats, princesses, marching bands, classic cars and horses, with downtown lit up for the season. The Alliance for Children ran the parade for more than 20 years; from this year the City of Monroe presents it and keeps the seven-decade tradition going. The city asks families to come early to find parking and a place along the route. The full route and a parking map were still to be published when this was checked, so look at the city's parade page before setting out. New in 2026 is a Sensory Area near the corner of Jefferson and N. Church Street, a quieter viewing spot for anyone who wants a calmer parade (listed separately). Monroe's Christmas tree lighting moved to the evening before, November 21. Bring chairs or a blanket and warm layers for an afternoon on the curb.
