Children visit with Santa, and the city asks families to bring a camera to take their own pictures. Visits run from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays starting the weekend after Thanksgiving, with a final date on Tuesday, December 22. On the first Saturday, Santa arrives in town by sheriff's helicopter at Pointe Plaza in the morning and then comes to the courthouse to visit with children and families until 4 p.m. The city's page lists no fee and no reservations. ## Similar picks in Chicago - [Santa Parade and Helicopter Arrival — Crown Point](https://grassyknees.com/chicago/activities/santa-parade-and-helicopter-arrival-crown-point--listing-f68bbf05b162b59458d2751f) — Sat, Nov 28 · 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM · Pointe Plaza, Crown Point · checked Oct 27.
