The play comes from humorist Jean Shepherd's memoir of growing up in the Midwest in the 1940s and follows 9-year-old Ralphie Parker and his single-minded campaign to find a genuine Red Ryder BB gun under the tree on Christmas morning, with the family chaos and holiday mishaps that go with it. It is a familiar, funny story that school-age children and their parents can enjoy together, and a small black-box room puts the audience close to the action. Evening performances start at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and run about two hours. Tickets are sold through the theater company's website. ## Similar picks in Dallas–Fort Worth - [The Best Christmas Pageant Ever — Runway Theatre, Grapevine](https://grassyknees.com/dallas-fort-worth/activities/the-best-christmas-pageant-ever-runway-theatre-grapevine--listing-3a59a1d84a6aba18ba7149ae) — Fri, Dec 4 (+7 more dates) · 7:30 PM · Runway Theatre, Grapevine · From $22 · checked Oct 27.
