Kids can enjoy inflatables, games and activities, train rides and photos with Santa, and there is a sensory space for children who need a quieter break, plus holiday photo ops, a holiday market, live performances and food trucks. The city's Christmas tree is lit at 6 p.m., followed by a drone show. Runners can join the non-competitive one-mile fun run for all ages at 4 p.m. or the timed or untimed 5K at 4:35/4:40 p.m.; race registration is separate and paid. A shuttle runs from Allen ISD's Lowery Freshman Center from 3 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., which saves hunting for downtown parking. ## Similar picks in Dallas–Fort Worth - [Grand Prairie Tree Lighting and Lighted Holiday Parade 2026](https://grassyknees.com/dallas-fort-worth/activities/grand-prairie-tree-lighting-and-lighted-holiday-parade-2026--listing-11af095c986019801488b328) — Sat, Dec 5 · 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM · Downtown Grand Prairie — Grand Prairie City Hall · All ages · Free · checked Oct 16.
