Step into the shadows on a beginner-friendly Halloween night hike at Lookout Mountain Preserve and uncover the spooky secrets of local wildlife. From spiders' eerie webs to the silent flight of owls, the group explores the adaptations that make animals seem a little ghostly after dark. Before setting out for a short one-mile hike, participants craft their own lantern to light the way. The hike follows Forest Loop Trail, an uneven dirt trail with rocks and roots. Bring water, sturdy footwear, warm layers, and an optional flashlight and snacks. All ages; youth must be accompanied by an adult. Free, registration required; sign up everyone in your group.
