Ruby Hill Rail Yard is Denver Parks and Recreation's free urban terrain park for snowboarders and skiers at Ruby Hill Park, built each winter with snowmaking and design help from Winter Park Resort. It features rails, boxes and configurations for beginner through advanced riders; there are no lifts, so riders hike back up. Ruby Hill Park is located off South Platte River Drive and West Florida Avenue; park hours are 5 a.m. to 11 p.m., and the rail yard is lighted daily from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. with volunteers present during lighted hours. In the 2025 season the city offered free rental snowboards, boots, helmets and snow tubes on Fridays 4-9 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays 11 a.m.-6 p.m., plus free learn-to-ride events; participants under 18 needed a parent or guardian to sign a waiver.
