Each week brings a new theme explored through discovery activities, short hikes and hands-on investigation, with the goal of building children's confidence and curiosity and a real connection to the outdoors. Because it is a drop-off program, it is a gentle step toward independence for three- to five-year-olds who are ready to spend a morning with a naturalist and a small group of peers; all children must be potty-trained. Families pack a snack and water and dress children for the weather, since most of the time is spent outside, though activities move indoors in severe weather.
