Families show a military ID at any ticket counter, and up to six guests can come in on one service member's or veteran's ID. At 1 p.m. staff lead a free 30-minute tour from the Museum Plaza called Innovators Who Served, which looks at people in the collections whose stories connect to military service — a good way to explain the meaning of the holiday to school-age children. The museum's Giant Screen Experience is also premiering a documentary that week, with free tickets for veterans and active-duty personnel. Other visitors pay regular admission. The museum is open 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. that Wednesday. ## Similar picks in Detroit - [Lagniappe and The Big, Bright Light Show — Downtown Rochester](https://grassyknees.com/detroit/activities/lagniappe-and-the-big-bright-light-show-downtown-rochester--listing-402032e27fb869d3b9aff03b) — Nov 23 – Jan 17 · 6:00 PM · Downtown Rochester (calendar lists the Rochester DDA) · checked Oct 16.
