Each program pairs a classroom-style presentation with time outdoors, looking at Michigan's animals, plants, seasons, habitats and history, and this one includes a walk of about three quarters of a mile on flat, compacted gravel with plenty of interactive participation. Every participant receives a Wild Michigan sticker, a different design each month, so children who come back can build a collection. The program is for ages 7 and up, and each child needs a registered adult with them. It makes a 90-minute outing for the last weekend day of the Thanksgiving break.
