The kids' race goes off first, before the adult distances, so families can watch children finish and then walk or run the 5K together. The organizers describe the course as flat and fast but safe for the whole family. Start and finish are at the On the Run Clear Lake running store on Bay Area Boulevard. Picking up packets in advance is strongly encouraged: pickup runs at the store on the Tuesday and Wednesday before Thanksgiving, with race-morning pickup on site from 6:30 AM. Entry fees rise in steps through November and are highest on race day, and shirt sizes are guaranteed only for early registrants. Runners can also bring non-perishable food, toiletries and other household items to donate at pickup or on race day. ## Similar picks in Houston - [Houston Methodist Turkey Trot — Uptown and The Galleria](https://grassyknees.com/houston/activities/houston-methodist-turkey-trot-uptown-and-the-galleria--listing-09912f6c9a6fb8e0cacd3134) — Thu, Nov 26 · 7:30 AM · Dillard's near the Galleria (race site) · From $25.99 · checked Oct 24.
