## About

Galveston's oldest house opens its gates on Halloween evening for a short, history-flavored trick-or-treat stop. Galveston Historical Foundation hands individual bags of candy to young guests on the grounds of the 1838 Menard House, so children in costume can walk up, collect a treat and see the Greek Revival home lit up for the night before heading on through the neighborhood. Admission to the property is free and no ticket is needed; the house itself stays closed for tours during the event. It suits toddlers through grade-schoolers who want an easy, early-evening stop, and it fits neatly before or after other Halloween plans in Galveston.
