Little orphan Annie escapes Miss Hannigan's New York orphanage in the 1930s, wins over billionaire Oliver Warbucks and keeps searching for the parents who left her. The cast includes a troupe of young orphan performers, so children in the audience see kids their own age on stage, and the story's optimism makes it a common first musical. Civic's 2026 run plays in Carmel's Center for the Performing Arts complex on Friday evenings, Saturday matinees and evenings, and Sunday matinees, with extra 7 p.m. shows on Dec. 16, 17, 22 and 23 and a noon performance on Christmas Eve. Tickets are sold through The Center for the Performing Arts box office. ## Similar picks in Indianapolis - [A Christmas Carol at the Indiana Repertory Theatre](https://grassyknees.com/indianapolis/activities/a-christmas-carol-at-the-indiana-repertory-theatre--listing-4760dcb734836497fa95076d) — Nov 14 – Dec 26 · Indiana Repertory Theatre · From $27 · checked Oct 24.
