A live DJ hosts a dance party, kids can get their faces painted, try hands-on activities and ride the Snowfall Express train, and at 8:30 p.m. everyone counts down to 2027 with a giant balloon drop in the Great Hall, an early countdown that works for younger children's bedtimes. Train rides must be booked online in advance for this event; children 2 and younger ride free but must ride with an adult 18 or older. Tickets are separate from museum admission and include $4 parking validation; there is no registration deadline. ## Similar picks in Indianapolis - [Kwanzaa Community Festival at the Indiana State Museum](https://grassyknees.com/indianapolis/activities/kwanzaa-community-festival-at-the-indiana-state-museum--listing-856c6466d5330888d89b4d38) — Sun, Dec 27 · 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM · Indiana State Museum · All ages · From $17 · checked Oct 24.
