## About

The children's department at Westfield Washington Public Library serves infants, toddlers and elementary-age children with age-appropriate story times, a discovery zone, STEAM activities and clubs. Play-based learning is built into the space with a puppet theater, puzzles, play tables and early-literacy computer stations. Children can read to registered therapy dogs through Paws to Read (with Paws & Think), borrow hands-on STEAM kits such as microscopes and birding binoculars from the Library of Things, browse an award-winning book collection, and join 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten or the summer reading program. Families can also sign young children up for Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, which mails a free book each month from birth to age five.
