The page calls it a free community event, welcomes families and dogs, and says the lighted parade starts after the countdown. It also says this year introduces a new mayor's Christmas tree. The bold date line is Saturday, November 21, 2026 at 6 pm, which matches the partnership's annual-events list and the parade page. A sentence in the body still says Saturday night, November 24th, with no year, so the clock date should be confirmed before a family plans around it. Stand on the lawn rather than along the parade route if you want to see the switch. This listing is the lighting only. ## Similar picks in Kansas City - [Mayor's Tree Lighting — Basehor](https://grassyknees.com/kansas-city/activities/mayor-s-tree-lighting-basehor--listing-53945ef0319e0dbdd7459b7a) — Sat, Nov 21 · 5:00 PM · Basehor City Hall · Free · checked Oct 27.
