North Las Vegas Parks and Recreation hosts Cocoa & Crafts at the SkyView Multi-Generational Center on the first Saturday morning of December. Families drop in over a three-hour window to sip a cup of hot cocoa and make their own winter-themed craft to take home, which makes it an easy, low-key holiday outing for children who like glue, glitter and paper projects. The city lists the program as open to all ages, so toddlers can work alongside an adult while older kids make something on their own. The fee is $5 and the city asks participants to register in advance through its online recreation system, where the activity showed plenty of spaces left in October. SkyView is a large recreation center with an activity pool on East Centennial Parkway; call the center with questions.
