In 2026, the 14th year, the free day falls on a Sunday, and non-residents get buy-one-get-one admission. Free tickets are handed out in person at the box office, first come, first served, with no advance reservations; residents must show ID with a Nevada address (a driver's license, utility bill or bank statement works). The paid add-on experiences (Crime Lab, Firearm Training Simulator, Distillery Tour) are not available that day. All ages are welcome, but children under 14 must be with a parent or guardian, and the museum notes that some exhibits contain graphic material it considers more appropriate for ages 12 and up.
