Families can choose the 5K run or the 1-mile walk, and everyone is encouraged to wear cheerful costumes or ugly holiday sweaters. The first 300 participants are guaranteed souvenir medals and dry-fit t-shirts. The event is open to all ages and fitness levels and runs from 10 am to noon. Registration is through Active.com: the 5K is $35 through Nov 12, $40 from Nov 13 to Dec 11 and $45 on race day; the 1-mile walk is $30, $35 and $40 for the same periods.
