Los Angeles Union Station kicks off the holiday season with its 11th annual tree lighting in the station's historic Ticket Concourse. Charles Phoenix hosts the free, family-friendly evening. Metro Art Presents brings live music from Mariachi Ausente and Lizzy & the Triggermen, towering stilt walkers in festive costumes roam the station, and Santa and special guests from the North Pole pose for photos. Sweet treats and other family activities round out the evening. The event is free for all ages and open to the public; tickets are not required, though the station points to an Eventbrite listing. Union Station is reachable on the Metro A, B, D and J lines, Metrolink and Amtrak; parking in the station's East or West lots starts at $8.
