The Pier Lighting and Holiday Open House is Manhattan Beach's official start to the holiday season, listed by the city for Wednesday, November 18, 2026, from 6 to 9 p.m. in Downtown Manhattan Beach and at the pier. In past years the evening has opened with local school choirs before the pier lights are switched on, while downtown merchants stay open late with holiday music, street performers, carolers and family activities such as photos with Santa's sleigh, face painting and balloon twisting at Metlox Fountain Plaza. The Beach Cities Toy Drive collects new, unwrapped toys at the event for local children's charities. Streets downtown close for the evening, so walking, biking or the city's on-demand shuttle is easier than driving.

What was checked & what still needs confirmation
Read in a browser. The special-events overview lists November 18, 2026, 6–9 PM; the dedicated detail page still shows the 2025 edition (Nov 19, 2025) with its schedule, so 2026 activities are not confirmed. Location intersection taken from the city's own pier description.
