Long Beach Parks, Recreation and Marine hosts Monster Mash, a free, family-friendly Halloween festival in Downtown Long Beach. Activities include carnival games, balloon animals, a cake walk and themed arts and crafts such as a popsicle scarecrow decorating station. Children are encouraged to wear family-friendly costumes for a costume parade and a trick-or-treat hunt inside the adjacent Billie Jean King Main Library (200 W. Broadway) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Attendees check in for a bracelet and a Monster Mash passport; completed activities earn opportunity drawing tickets for prize baskets. Free parking in the Civic Center Parking Garage (332 W. Broadway).
