The Huntington's Second Sundays program on November 8 is a drop-in family afternoon built around the exhibition "This Land Is ...", which looks at the American story through land on the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Visitors of all ages can join a special artmaking workshop with AMBOS (Art Made Between Opposite Sides), a binational artist collective that works along the U.S.-Mexico border, add their own story to "We Hold These Truths", a story-gathering project with the Smithsonian Folklife Festival, and take part in exhibition tours and conversations with Huntington docents. Activities are based in the MaryLou and George Boone Gallery and run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The program is free with general admission, so families need a regular Huntington admission ticket for the day. It suits school-age children who like hands-on art and storytelling, and pairs well with a walk through the gardens afterward.
