The centerpiece is a no-ice Sock Skating Rink where beginners can slide and spin in their socks; it costs an extra $6 per person and capacity is limited for safety. Children can also ride trikes through a giant gingerbread house into a candyland forest, build sculptures from frostbite-free play 'ice blocks' in Penguin Paradise, and dress a life-size No-Melt Snowman in costumes for the Snow Family Follies photo stage; the museum encourages holiday sweaters. The other Winter Frolic activities are included with regular museum admission, which is booked through the museum's ticket page. The season runs from November 6 through January 10 during normal museum hours; the museum is closed November 2–5 while new exhibits are installed. ## Similar picks in Los Angeles - [Art Lab: Holiday Craft and Gift Making at Canoga Park Branch Library](https://grassyknees.com/los-angeles/activities/art-lab-holiday-craft-and-gift-making-at-canoga-park-branch-library--listing-1bfdd8efcd3b0372f83867a7) — Sat, Nov 7 · 2:30 PM – 3:30 PM · Canoga Park Branch Library · Ages 11+ · checked Oct 16.
