From 4 to 6 p.m. kids can make take-home crafts and do activities while they wait, and carolers from Elk River Lutheran sing; the lighting ceremony itself starts at 5 p.m. and lasts about half an hour. Children are invited to bring their letters to Santa so they reach him in time. Families can also bring a toy for the Elk River Fire Foundation's annual Fill-a-Truck Toy Drive, and downtown businesses are open for warm drinks, food and holiday shopping. ## Similar picks in Minneapolis - [Chaska Tree Lighting at Firemen's Park](https://grassyknees.com/minneapolis/activities/chaska-tree-lighting-at-firemen-s-park--listing-385575a3bb508d0208d75869) — Sun, Nov 22 · 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM · Firemen's Park, Chaska · checked Oct 13.
