On Monday mornings through late April, the Minnesota Zoo opens its Sky classroom for a self-directed play time for children ages 2 to 5 and their adults. Each Monday is different: activities range from dress-up and crafts to sensory play, and the themes take their cue from the animals living at the Zoo. It is drop-in, with no class to sign up for, and it is included with Zoo admission, so families can pair a play session with an animal walk. Space is limited, so arriving early on busy school-break Mondays is a good idea. Hours are 9 a.m. to noon; the Zoo itself opens to the public at 10 a.m.
