## About

Twin Cities Ballet's Saturday evening performance of A Minnesota Nutcracker at Northrop on December 19, 2026 is a relaxed performance with pick-your-price tickets: the house lights stay at a soft glow, sound levels are turned down, the audience is told ahead of any surprises, and anyone can step out and come back as needed, with ushers trained to accommodate movement and sound in the hall. The ballet keeps Tchaikovsky's score and the familiar Nutcracker story, but Clara's journey passes Minnesota landmarks and characters, from the State Capitol's golden horses and falling waters to bluegill frolicking by a Mississippi River paddleboat, Vikings, the loon and the lady's slipper, danced by Twin Cities Ballet's company on the Carlson Family Stage on the University of Minnesota's Minneapolis campus. Northrop bills it as entertainment for the whole family. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for the 6 p.m. curtain. Regular-priced performances of the same production run at 1:30 p.m. the same day and 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 20.
