A Thanksgiving-morning trail race on the east side of Battle Creek Regional Park in St. Paul, organized by the Urban Trail Series. Alongside the 10K (8 a.m.) and 5K (9:30 a.m.) there is a 3K Kids Run: kids start with the 5K runners at 9:30 and take a shortcut to the finish, and a youth-priced 5K for runners 16 and under. The course mixes paved trail and off-pavement cross-country ski trails with some challenging rolling hills, so dress for whatever November brings, from sun to early snow. Every runner gets a custom long-sleeve race shirt. The 3K kids run costs $22.39 including fees, the youth 5K $34.05 and the adult 5K or 10K $49.95; prices increase after Nov. 1.
