## About

Families can watch real ornithology at the Warner Park Nature Center's long-term bird-banding station, which has operated since 1982. Trained, federally licensed researchers and volunteers from the Warner Parks BIRD team capture wild birds, identify and measure them, fit each with a uniquely numbered aluminum leg band and release them. Visitors learn how the data informs understanding of bird populations, migration and the importance of Warner Parks for birds. It is open to all ages with no registration needed for families; drop in during the banding window and stay as long as you like. Organized groups should email the nature center first.
