Bullied by two mean stepsisters, Cinderella gets to the ball thanks to her Fairy Godmother, flees at midnight and leaves a glass slipper behind — told British-panto style with original modern songs, colorful characters and lots of audience participation. The performance is adapted for people with autism, sensory sensitivities or other social, learning or cognitive disabilities: sound is lowered (especially sudden loud sounds), house lights stay on at a low level, strobe and audience-facing lights are reduced, and guests may talk and leave their seats. It is a comfortable first theater experience for any young child, and siblings are welcome. ## Similar picks in New York - [The Nutcracker Sensory-Friendly Performance — New Jersey Ballet at UCPAC, Rahway](https://grassyknees.com/new-york/activities/the-nutcracker-sensory-friendly-performance-new-jersey-ballet-at-ucpac--listing-ef8ace2190200b96cfddf0cf) — Sun, Nov 29 · 2:00 PM · Union County Performing Arts Center (UCPAC), Rahway · From $8 · checked Oct 16.
