Vocalist Nancy Reed joins the big band, and Duke Ellington's grandson Edward Ellington II narrates — a nice way for children who know the Tchaikovsky ballet or the Dr. Seuss story to hear the tunes reimagined as jazz. A 2 pm start suits families, and the museum itself (with its Guinness Collection of mechanical musical instruments and rotating exhibits) can be visited the same day. Tickets include a non-refundable $3 handling fee and can also be bought by phone from the box office at 973-971-3706. ## Similar picks in New York - [The Nutcracker with Live Orchestra — American Repertory Ballet at State Theatre New Jersey](https://grassyknees.com/new-york/activities/the-nutcracker-with-live-orchestra-american-repertory-ballet-at-state--listing-f2c347f8b116335c416ef489) — Thu, Dec 17 (+3 more dates) · 7:00 PM · State Theatre New Jersey, New Brunswick · Paid · checked Oct 16.
