## About

Every Saturday morning Duke Farms, the 2,700-acre conservation estate in Hillsborough, leads a casual one-hour Weekend Ecology Walk that starts behind the Farm Barn Orientation Center. The twist is that each week's theme is a secret, picked at random: one Saturday might be about birds or trees, the next about mushrooms, insects, flowers, the estate's clean-energy and sustainability work, or how the land was used in the past. Because every walk is different, it suits families who like to come back, and the low-key pace makes it an easy first nature outing with school-age children through late fall and into winter. Plan to stay afterward on the estate's paths and ponds. The walk is listed on Duke Farms' program calendar; the page does not print a fee or an age range, and the estate's Saturday parking pass (free, reserved in advance) is noted as required April through October.
