## About

Wollman Rink, the outdoor ice rink near the southeast corner of Central Park, opens its 2026–27 public skating season on October 28, 2026 and stays open daily through March 16, 2027. Families skate under the Midtown skyline on an open-air sheet with skate rentals (sizes from toddler 8 to men's 14), skate aids for young children under 4 feet tall, lockers and a café with kid favorites. Children under 16 must be accompanied by a chaperone aged 21 or older, and one non-skating chaperone per child ticket gets in free. Pricing runs on Off-Peak, Peak and Prime days shown on the rink's calendar; the busiest Prime days fall on Thanksgiving weekend and the December holidays, so weekday daytime sessions are the calmer choice for first-time skaters. Community Days on Oct 31–Nov 1 and Mar 14–16 are free for everyone (remaining tickets at Peak pricing), Veterans Day is free for veterans, active-duty military and their families, and MLK Day (Jan 18) for teachers and their families. Everyone, skating or not, signs a waiver; there is no re-entry and tickets are non-refundable. The Wollman Rink Access Program (WRAP) offers a $16 walk-up package with skates and cocoa for holders of a physical IDNYC or NYPL card.
