Mead Botanical Garden's Young Naturalist Explorers class on bats begins in the Discovery Barn. Children try hands-on activities about bats and how scientists study them. Then an interpretive twilight hike looks at Florida bat species, where to find them and how to listen for them. Instructor Marcia Anderson leads the class. Check-in is at 5:30 p.m., and the class runs from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Bring a red head lamp or red flashlight, closed-toe walking shoes or boots, weather-appropriate clothing and water. The cost is $10 per child plus Eventbrite fees, and tickets are sold through Eventbrite.
