The show retells the Nativity story through dance, music and theatrical storytelling, rooted in African American cultural traditions, and marks the company's 35th year. It is a good pick for families who want a seasonal performance other than The Nutcracker, with live movement and familiar carols in a classic downtown theater. The company was founded by E. Leon Evans III and is now led by co-directors Shawn-Lamere Williams and Dr. Sheila A. Ward. Tickets went on sale October 27 through The Grand's box office; the venue page does not list prices or an age recommendation, so check the ticket page or call the box office before you go. Copeland Hall is on North Market Street, a short walk from the Rodney Square area. ## Similar picks in Philadelphia - [A Christmas Carol: The Musical at the Milburn Stone Theatre](https://grassyknees.com/philadelphia/activities/a-christmas-carol-the-musical-at-the-milburn-stone-theatre--listing-93748ca3b3fb62bfb3a9bfab) — Fri, Dec 4 (+5 more dates) · 7:30 PM · Milburn Stone Theatre at Cecil College, North East · From $16 · checked Oct 24.
