- Montgomery County Parks, Trails & Historic Sites
Montgomery County opens Sunrise Mill, its newest historic site, after years of restoration. The site in Upper Frederick Township has a restored 18th-century gristmill and sawmill complex, historic farm buildings and exhibits about the people and industries that shaped the region. The grand opening is a family-friendly Fall Fest with guided mill tours, live music, food trucks and activities for all ages, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. On-site parking is limited, so the county encourages visitors to use the free shuttle from the Upper Frederick Township Municipal Building at 3205 Big Rd, Zieglerville. Rain date is Sunday, October 18.
