Valley Youth Theatre opens its 2026-27 season with The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical, adapted from Rick Riordan's bestselling book, performed by young actors at VYT's downtown Phoenix theatre. Percy discovers he is the half-blood son of a Greek god, is accused of stealing Zeus's master lightning bolt and sets off on a quest to the Underworld to clear his name, all set to an original rock score. The story and music suit upper-elementary children, tweens and teens who know the books or the Disney+ series, though VYT lists the age recommendation as all ages. The run continues through October 25, 2026. Tickets start at $22.50 plus a $2.50 facility fee, with an extra $3.50 fee per ticket online; lap children under 2 do not require a ticket. Check the show page for remaining performance times.
