The evening opens at 6:30 pm with stage entertainment — festive performers, an LED drumline, character photos and crafts (while supplies last) — and the tree is lit promptly at 7:00 pm. Santa Claus then takes free photos from 7 to 9 pm, so families can skip a paid mall Santa. Admission and parking are free. A Tuesday-night event two days before Thanksgiving; good for all ages, though the Santa line can get long right after the lighting. ## Similar picks in Phoenix - [Annual Holiday Tree Lighting — Desert Ridge Marketplace](https://grassyknees.com/phoenix/activities/annual-holiday-tree-lighting-desert-ridge-marketplace--listing-7e5971ed77b62f1cd7b23a8e) — Mon, Nov 23 · 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM · Desert Ridge Marketplace — The District · All ages · Free · checked Oct 21.
