New Castle Playhouse's December show is Miracle on 34th Street: The Musical, based on the 20th Century Fox film with music and lyrics by Meredith Willson of The Music Man. Single mother Doris Walker, who works at Macy's, doesn't want her young daughter Susan believing in fairy tales, until Susan meets Kris Kringle, the store Santa who insists he is the real one, and a court case puts Santa's existence on trial. The playhouse bills it as fun for the whole family. Seven performances run on the Main Stage from December 11 to 20, 2026: Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 pm and Sundays at 2:00 pm. Main Theater tickets are $19 for adults, $16 for seniors 60+, and $14 for veterans and youth 12 and under, sold online, by phone or in person; the box office opens 60 minutes before curtain. A Mini Tree Raffle runs at every performance, with decorated trees carrying $50–$100 in gift cards, and audio can be streamed to compatible hearing aids, cochlear implant processors or earbuds in the main theater.
