The Dickens story follows the bitter Ebenezer Scrooge as he is visited by the ghost of Jacob Marley and the spirits of Christmas Past, Present and Future, told with extravagant scenery, lavish costumes, dramatic lighting, fog and spirits. The theater labels it family friendly; the ghosts and fog can be a little intense for the very young, and children under two are not admitted. Weekend 2 PM matinees are the easiest choice for families with school-age children. ## Similar picks in Providence - [The Nutcracker — Heritage Ballet at the Stadium Theatre](https://grassyknees.com/providence/activities/the-nutcracker-heritage-ballet-at-the-stadium-theatre--listing-1435e266b8832181898d0e73) — Sat, Nov 28 (+1 more date) · 2:00 PM · Stadium Theatre, Woonsocket · Ages 2+ · From $20 · checked Oct 27.
